LA City Guide
This time, we asked designer, YouTuber, and stylist Karla Deras to show us around. Having founded The Line by K a decade ago, Karla’s philosophy inspired her elevated yet effortless collection of basics, and also makes her the the perfect guide to show us the best of LA, inside and out.
She’s helped us curate sharing her top picks for everything you need to make the most of your visit, whether that be through hidden gems or classic favourites.
We just wrapped up our final LA visit of 2025, and got to check out some of Karla’s picks ourselves, but we can’t wait to explore some more in the New Year. We’re back January 16th-18th and March 14th-15th, book here!
Courage Bagels - I get an everything bagel with wild salmon roe. The best!
Ojai Rotie - Good for families! French-Lebanese farm-to-table menu that also serves wine. We also take home a loaf of their sourdough to eat on weekday mornings.
Kismet - Try the veggie plate. It’s my favorite.
Sqirl - My son loves the Chicken & Rice Porridge.
Uncle Paulie’s - Good for sandwiches.
Bestia- It’s my son’s favorite restaurant. Order the Herb Caesar Salad, the seasonal Agnolotti, and the grilled branzino.
Anajak Thai - Highly recommend ordering the Cucumber Radish salad & the fried chicken. A family favorite.
Dunsmoor - Cozy restaurant that serves a mean bowl of green chilli stew.
Antico Nuovo - You have to get the anchovies and the focaccia!
Ojai Valley Inn- It’s several miles outside of LA, but our ideal staycation spot. We don’t live too far so sometimes we go for breakfast on the weekends.
Soho Warehouse- It’s located downtown in the arts district and has cozy rooms with spacious showers!
I mostly shop online, but love visiting the Dries Van Noten store, the Scent Bar, Bode on Melrose Ave. and American Rag- they have a great vintage selection and I find something there almost every time I go.
We’d love to know if you end up at any of Karla’s recommendations - please do tag us on instagram if you do and find our very own Team Studio Bust LA guide here!
