Bust Portraits : Sarah Bern
A few months ago, England Rugby Red Roses icon Sarah Bern stepped into the studio.
A force on the pitch, and just as powerful off it, Sarah champions self-love and confidence in everything she does.
We loved getting to know who inspires her, what makes her feel powerful, and the advice she lives by.
“The women who shaped my life the most are definitely my mum, 100% my sisters and 100% my partner Mackenzie Carson. The way they continue to strive to be the best that they can be, I’m in awe of them.“
“I feel my most powerful when I’m on the rugby pitch, it my rugby jersey, running out. I feel powerful in that moment.
Also, I feel very powerful and confident when I’m in the clothes I love. And I definitely feel incredible powerful in suit.”
“I want to inspire a generation of women who are confident to be themselves. Who don’t feel like they have to shrink themselves or mould themselves or to be anything other than who they are. A world where women are celebrated for all different shapes and sizes.”
“The piece of advice I always followed is be brave and be you. I think it takes a lot of courage to be yourself. Sometimes you might wish things were different or you were different, but actually it takes a lot of bravery to be yourself and be confident in your skin and your body. It’s taken me a long time and I know it’s taken a lot of other women a long time to really grow into that.
I think it’s the biggest compliment when someone expresses how beautiful you are, just purely for being your confident self. “
“I really enjoyed the power pose for my Bust because it made me feel real, powerful, strong, beautiful sexy, all of the above. And I think it just captured me and embodied everything I stand for.
I like that you can see the muscles but you can also see the realness.”
